Can Pectin Promote Weight Loss?

OK.  So I mentioned that I looked into fat burning foods and that I came across the fact that the pectin in apples can block fat absorption. It appears to have been very effective after my fatty meal. It went through me quickly. Not so quickly that I regretted it, but quick enough that I felt like the fat had indeed not been absorbed!  It was a bit abrasive on my lower intestinal system and a bit irritating to my skin, but how cool is it that the fatty meal didn’t get completely absorbed.  I’m not saying that it was like a laxative or anything, it was over 12 hours later, so it’s not like I’ve got some eating disorder and I’m not preventing absorption of the nutrients in the meal.

I like to think about all the fat my body was burning when it got no new fat in that meal.  What I mean is, if there was no (or little) fat intake from that one meal, my body still had to burn calories for my normal daily use.  So it looks like even though I got to eat a nice fatty meal, my body still burned off more fat!
