When I need comfort I often turn to fatty foods. I find macaroni and cheese, French fries and chips to be SOOOO comforting! The problem is of course that they are way high in fat. Eating tradition comfort foods is not an effective way for me to burn fat. So when I need comfort I need to turn to activities that will not increase my fat intake and perhaps even allow me to burn fat while I am doing them. Exercise is comforting, but I often don’t have the energy. I find that when I need comfort a good movie or episode of a television show is very effective.
If I can refrain from eating comfort food (or any food) during this time, then my body can be burning fat while I am being comforted. And seriously, isn’t a trimmer, better looking body among one of the most comforting things? What I mean is that when I look good, I often feel good as well. I feel great when I feel attractive and slim. So when I have a moment that I feel I need comfort food, I try to turn that moment into a potential fat burning moment by avoiding food and doing something else distracting and comforting. All the while I try to think of how much slimmer I will be by avoiding the comfort foods!
