Stress Eating

Its really hard to burn fat when you are a stress or emotional eater. For me when I have boughts of stress or emotional eating, there is probably no logistical way to possible burn off all the fat that I take in on the same day that I have one of these boughts. I’ve talked with other woman who have the same problem. When emotion gets the better of our eating habits, we can really pack on the pounds. One thing a person can do is try to fill up on lower calorie foods when one feels the needs to stress eat. I’m not condoning stress eating, and I’m not condoning binge eating, but sometimes it happens. It would be better if it did not happen, but it does happen.

So take today for example, my young son is home sick from school. He has a fever and he has a cold and he is crabby, so am I! I really felt the need to just eat, to fill up on something, to make the stress go away. So, desire the fact it was about 9am, I made a salad, a huge salad, cut up an entire cucumber to put in it. Because I figure if I am in for a long day of stress with a sick child, the last thing I should do is start that day off with more high calorie foods than the bagles and doughnuts we had when he first woke up. So I tried to fillup on the salad. It worked, I feel full I guess. The point is, when and if you ever feel the need to stress eat, try something like cucumber or celery that has a lower fat count to fill up on.
